New year, new baby: why the start of the year is a great time to book your ultrasound

Firstly, a warm and semi-belated welcome to 2026! This time in the year is often seen as a ‘fresh start’ month when it comes to baby planning, but it’s also a common time for births: about 8-9% of babies are born in January, with around 10,000 babies born daily during the first month within the United States.

Many soon-to-be parents start the year with important appointments, and these include ultrasounds. So here is a useful blog to explain why January and February are good months to come visit us!

It’s likely you’ll find more availability for ultrasounds in New Year after the holiday season, as people often reschedule or book new services in. There’s also more flexibility when it comes to families with changing work/school schedules, since once the holidays are over, the kids are back in class, and this gives you more freedom to find the right time for your scan!
